What is a Forehead Lift (Browlift)?
A browlift is designed to correct sagging of the eyebrows, frown lines and forehead creases that can produce a tired, sad or angry appearance. Depending on the extent of tissue which needs to be removed, the procedure is either performed 'endoscopically' with a small lighted camera and small incisions placed within the hairline or open with a longer incision hidden behind or just in front of the hair. The objective is a smoother, rejuvenated forehead and a brighter appearance to the face from elevating the eyebrows and opening up the eyes.
Who is a good candidate for this procedure?
Good candidates for the browlift are generally men and women over 40 who have deep frown lines, forehead creases and excess tissue of the upper eyelids. This procedure is often combined with blepharoplasty and/or a facelift to rejuvenate the entire face.
What is the recovery like from this procedure?
The side effects of this surgery include temporary swelling, numbness and bruising. Most of my patients resume their regular routine within 7 to 10 days. Full recovery from the bruising and swelling may take 2 to 3 weeks.
