God created us with glorious purpose! He has shown me that a few times in my life, and one of the most meaningful was after being diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer. Not something one wants to experience, but Jesus was so faithful in making me constantly aware of His presence and His love and giving me peace available nowhere else! This free gift of Himself to all of us is nothing less than priceless.
Some say life’s a test and I believe it’s true. We are given opportunities in life to rely wholly on our values and belief systems for life and wholeness and peace. As Jesus walked with me along this path–5 surgeries and 6 months of chemo–He showed His love in a most miraculous way. The peace of Jesus is without comparison and it’s His gift to all who will simply receive it!
What is the value of life? The breast cancer diagnosis provided some insight into that question for me. It solidified my belief that our spirits will live eternally, despite the weakness and ultimate demise of our bodies. I’m thankful for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that gives me peace and joy along this sometimes tumultuous journey called life. Proverbs 3:5-6
