At the age of 35, and no history in my family, when I was told I had breast cancer I cried and thought “why me?”–which I’m sure everyone thinks. Then I knew I couldn’t change what was happening to me so I went forward with a positive attitude to do what needed to be done and get back to the life I knew. The surgery I elected was a double mastectomy with a TRAM procedure. I had always wanted a tummy tuck, but this wasn’t the way I thought I would get it! Recovery was hard, but now I love my new body!
