HALO Pre-Care
As you prepare for your HALO laser treatment, we recommend that you:
Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanning for 7 days
Refrain from using retinoids or other exfoliating treatments for 7 days
Drink plenty of water and be hydrated for at least 7 days
Inform your provider about any history of cold sores/fever blisters/Herpes
Wear comfortable clothing for your session, especially if treating body areas other than your face and neck
HALO Post-Care
Following the post-care instructions assigned by our team is essential after you come in for HALO laser in Atlanta.
After your HALO laser treatment, we recommend that you:
Use cool compresses with a damp, soft cloth for discomfort
Refrain from engaging in strenuous exercise for 3 days
Wait at least 3 days before applying makeup
Avoid direct sunlight and tanning bed/UV treatments for 7 days
Do not use skin care products containing retin-A, retinol, glycolic acid, or salicylic acid for 7 days
Some patients may need 5 to 7 days to recover from the treatment due to redness and inflammation in the targeted area.
It’s important to avoid direct sunlight if you can, and to use a broad spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 30 when you do go outside. Otherwise, normal activities can usually be resumed.
HALO Results
You can choose to have HALO laser skin resurfacing anywhere on the body, including the face, neck, chest or hands, depending on your concerns. Your laser technician can treat one or more areas during your session.
The intensity of the ablative and non-ablative wavelengths can be altered to treat the skin’s surface and/or deeper dermal layers. The HALO laser also automatically adjusts the power of each energy pulse based on your skin’s temperature for both continued comfort and more even results.
Suitable for a wide range of skin types and concerns—including Fitzpatrick skin types I through IV—a HALO laser session usually lasts about 1 hour. After receiving the HALO laser treatment, you can expect to see the initial results in 7 to 10 days, with continued improvement for several months.
How long the positive results take to appear and then endure depends on your habits in keeping up with your skincare after the treatment. If you properly moisturize your skin daily and apply sunscreen any time you are out in the sun, you can dramatically reduce the need for more frequent maintenance with the HALO laser.
