Victoria talks about pursuing her dream of becoming a plastic surgeon

I have wanted to be a doctor since I was four years old, and as I’ve become older I have been drawn to the inherent creativity of plastic surgery.  The combination of art, creativity, clinical care, and patient interaction that plastic surgery entails is mesmerizing to me.  Now, I have the exciting opportunity to work and shadow at Artisan Plastic Surgery.

In my future as a doctor, I would want to see improvements in my patients’ wellbeing—physically, mentally, and emotionally.  Dr. Alexander performed breast augmentations on both my mother and aunt, and they are still thrilled with the results over 10 years after surgery.  Plastic surgery enhanced their outward appearance, and both have stressed how their emotional wellbeing was revitalized along with their bodies.

From the patients I have seen, the greatest improvement they have is the upward leap in their self-confidence and self-esteem.  Not only has their physical appearance been transformed to reflect the results they desire, but their mental and emotional states have changed positively as well.  It is unbelievably rewarding to watch patients leave Artisan Plastic Surgery rejuvenated physically, mentally, and emotionally.  I aim to establish the same results when I am a plastic surgeon.
