Vera: My Story of Breast Cancer and Reconstruction
When I learned my daughter was getting married, one of the happiest days of a mother’s life, I also received one of the most devastating news; I had breast cancer.
They told me this was a positive conversation as it was found early. I had to have both breasts removed, and I would be cancer-free.
Dr. Alexander removed everything from the bottom to the top; not a pleasant thing and a rough year healing. Would I do this again? You bet your life I would. Dr. Alexander made it possible for me to look into the mirror being as whole as I have ever been.
If it were not for the early detection with the mammogram I would not have found the cancer in time, and it would have not been the happy ending and thanks to Dr. Alexander for making me whole again.
